Summer in The Netherlands

Yesterday, was the warmest 2 of June ever recorded in history. The temperature reached at 2.30pm in De Bilt to 29.6°C that breaks the old record of 29.5°C in 1947. The southern part of the country reached 30°C and above. So Dutch people as sun worshippers, seen outside of their houses. Cafe terraces were full as expected, house gardens were set-up with umbrellas, inflated water pools, and bbq parties were everywhere. Our family of four went for cycling. I actually miscalculated the weather, and it was just too warm for a cycling adventure. However, our children still managed the heat since a cool and huge inflated swimming pool awaited them at our destination.
Old photo of my children taken at exactly the same pool as yesterday.
At least this week, we are having a normal summer days. What a relief, though I am not complaining like other Dutch people, I would be happier to sit outside just enough to warm my face :-). Have a good week everyone and enjoy the Dutch Summer!
